Crayon Hearts - So fun and easy

 We were busy cleaning The Studio this weekend....and we found a lot of crayons and decided to make one of the crafts I had seen here on Pinterest this week -

 We unwrapped the crayons ....and broke them into small pieces

We  filled this silicone heart tray with the chopped up crayons and turned on the oven to 275 and baked them for 15 minutes - (if you are going to try this - place the silicone mold on a baking sheet.)

and 15 minutes later they were fully melted

We let them cool for about 2 hours and voila!

beautiful heart shaped crayons!

Perfect for gift giving.

Fun and easy to make!

 I've got my STARBUCKS and I am in The Studio playing around with GIMP the free photo editing program today...( I should really be cleaning the studio, but I am having way too much fun with this program!!!!)

brunettes and blondes with a quick change of a brush and a color...

I could spend hours just playing around...oh, well - back to reality!

As a frustrated interior decorator I can spend hours on it...

flower arrangements,  places, people and so many things...oh , and of course,

my first love... fashion.

Sunday Sketches - My Inspiration(s)

A lot of people ask me about where my inspiration comes from -
Honestly, it can change from day to day - a mood, a picture, a thought, something I might see in town, people, places, or a song or a book -

BUT, my biggest inspiration comes from my two children, Summer and Saylor....

Two loveable characters, indeed!

Summer is sporty, funny, beautiful, moody, silly and oh so very smart....

 Saylor is red-headed freckly adorable budding artist...she's a fashionista and a stuffed animal lover...and she never leaves home without her purse and some purple! oh yeah!

So, today I am sharing that with you all - You may recognize some of traits of these wonderful girls inside a lot of my characters, they truly are my biggest inspiration!

I am so proud to share them with you!

Music...is Medicine for the Mind

She appeared in my sketchbook last night, after reading about these fox fur headphones from Beats by Oscar de la Renta - How fabulous and definitely frivolous!  - earmuffs and headphones a great combination....

So, music to me, is definitely medicine...I've got my Pandora radio plugged up with this station, today...
a little old fashioned romance....

One of my favorite things about the New Year is grabbing my favorite cup of coffee and locking myself up in my Studio for some much needed CLEAN OUT time!
Yes, I tend to gather paper, pencils, glitter, more paper, watercolors, post it notes, ribbon, inspirational pictures and quotes and they build...and build...until I can no longer sit at my desk! And then, they move to the floor, the computer desk and even the sofa....there's barely any room for my poor cat, Olive -

 It gets so bad, that there's nowhere for me to work...and it's time to CLEAN....
So that's what I am doing this week!
How about you....? Do you keep a messy work desk? Or is it nice and tidy...if it is can you come over and help me? And, don't forget to bring another Starbucks, I am going to need it!

Happy New Year

my friends -

I spent New Year's Eve with my family up in 

Stowe, Vermont...

and we just returned home...

We had a wonderful trip - even a few snowstorms!

I did a lot of sketching while we were there, and am sharing this happy ice skater with you today...

when I was a young girl I dreamed of becoming a famous ice skater...

 So, I came up with this little sketch of a young girl with big dreams!
